Acknowledgement to country

At Aiya Skin, we acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we live, create, and offer our work. We honour the Kabi Kabi people of the Sunshine Coast, whose deep connection to land, waters, and sky continues to guide the spirit of this place. We pay our respects to their Elders past and present, and to all First Nations people whose care for Country stretches back through the Dreaming. We honour their continuous ancestral connection to culture, country and sacred stewardship of our great Mother Earth.

We acknowledge that this land was stolen and sovereignty never ceded. We welcome with open hearts our First Nations and Torres straight islander brother & sisters, Aunties &Uncles into our hearts & mind, and commit to standing and acting in solidarity with all our First Nations peoples.

We also honour our own ancestral roots,  the Miri people of the Nuba Mountains through our father’s lineage, and the Thira people through our mother’s line. Their wisdom, resilience, and sacred relationship with land and plant medicine has guided us and is carried forward through the work we do at Aiya Skin. We seek to honour the traditions, wisdom and practises of working in harmony with the land to be of service to humanity, a principle that has always been at the heart of my people.

To all who live on this land, we acknowledge your ancestors too. Who may have come from far away lands, crossed the oceans and seas to be here. May we each walk gently, carrying forward the wisdom of those who came before us, and remembering that healing begins when we listen to the Earth, and to one another.
